Conditions of the Cot Crossword Competition are as follow:—
Each entry must be made on the form above and bo accompanied, if
posted, by stamps to the value of 6d.; or, if delivered, by stamps or a coin.
Any number of entries may be sent in. Each must be in a separate envelope
and contain the name and address of the sender and 6d. Coins must not be
sent by post.
The words must be written in ink.
The envelope containing tho entry must be marked plainly with the
number of the puzzle, in this case No. 14.
Address entries "Herald Crosswords, Box 128G, P.O., Elizabeth Street,
Melbourne," or place them in the box provided for the purpose at the entrance
to The Herald Building.
Employes of The Herald ancl allied publications, and their wives and
fatfiilics, may not compete.
Names of prize-winners will be published in The Herald one week after
the puzzle appears.
A minimum first prize of £15 and 10 other prizes of £1 each are guaranteed
by The Herald.
Proceeds will be allotted on the basis of two-thirds to the hospital, and
one-third to prizes.
Each competition will be open for a week, and no entries will be examined
until that period has expired. Entries must be in The Herald Office by 9 a.m.
on the closing day. \
All entries will have an equal chance of winning prizes. When the
competition closes the entries will be placed together and mixed, and the
first correct solution drawn and examined will win the first prize.
