ACCOUNTANTS' AND CLERKS'
ASSOCIATION.
The membors of tho above society hold
thoir monthly general meeting and social
olgbt at tho Melbonrno Coffee Palace, Bourko
street cast, on Thursday evoning ; Mr W.
G. Sevier, ohairmao of thei commute at
management, presided. A statement of the
business trausaotcd daring tho month was
read by the sccrotary, Mr A. T. Dwyer.
Seven mombors had secured appointments
through tho modium of tbo association.
Donations to tho funds had bccu sent
by Mossra Clcmont Davidson audit. Lorroor.
Tho sum ,o L7 lud been paid dur
ing tho month to members requiring
temporary assistance, and nine fresh applies-
tlons for membership were duly confirmed.
Since the lost general mooting a billiard
room, suitably furnished, had been added to
the rooms of the Association, and tho results
so far financially and socially had been satis
factory. Iu order that no attractionshould
bo wanting tho Committee of Mauagcmoot
were desirous of procuring a library for tho
reading room, and in this mattor thoy hoped
to secure tho assistance ot tho members and
mends ot the Association,
