NOT EASY FOR COLLINGWOOD
Hawthorn Keen For First Win Over Magpies
Believing that they have strengthened their side, Hawthorn
arc keen to gain a victory over Collingwood — a feat they have
not managed in their seven years in the League.
IN encounters in recent seasons, Hnw-j
thorn have pressed the Magpies
closely, and another evenly-contcstcd
game is likely. Collingwood will need
all their traditional solidity to pull
through at Glenferrie.
After having led at the last change
in their meeting on this ground last
year, Hawthorn were outlasted in the
final term. It was a season of narrow
defeats for the Brown-and-Gold, and
prospects for greater success iti 1932
depend on whether they develop the
steadiness and reliability in critical
times for which their opponents tomor
row are noted.
On the easy list with knee trouble.
Clayden, the big follower, will be greatly
missed if Collingwood are hard-pressed.
