Already 100 men. representing tho
first hatch of those arrested In the
campaign against the Irish Republican
Army, have boon sent to an intern-
ment camp in County Down. 1
A patrol of five policemen was am-
hushed at Youghal (Munster), and a
sergeant was seriously wounded.
An Irish railway leader has re- :
quested tho Lord Mayor of Dublin to
intorveno in tho munition deadlock.
Tho request is interpreted to moan
that the mon aro tired of tho daily :
dismissals because of their refusal to ;
carry munitions, and are now willing
to return to work.
Throe police lorries travelling from
Cork were ambushed at Brinny Cross
(threo miles north of Baudon). Vol
leys were poured in from a distance of
400 yards. There woro no casualties.
The police unsuccessfully searched for 1
the attackors.r
A military patrol orderod three
suspects to halt near Bandon. The
men ran off and woro fired on, all
being killed. Each man carried a re
