Tlii" morning Jonathan Colls, arrested on
warrant, was charged at tho above court with
indecent exposure boforo a lady aud her
daughter. It ap»oarcd that on Thursday last
tlm nrismicr was drivint? down tho Orrnncr
road, and when at tho junction of Inkorinan
road ho jumped out of tho cart and committed
tho offence for which ho was prosecuted.
Owing to tho reticcuco of tho witness as to tho
nature of tho olfeuco tho bench stated that they
did not considor tho caso clearly proved, and
gave the pritionor tho benefit of tho doubt.
Charles Ilccklcy was brought up ou a warrant
charging him witli obtaining monoy under
fuloc pretonccs. The prisoner plondou guilty,
aud tiie facts of tlm caso as shortly stated wero
that lie boarded with Fredorick Wirapolo, of
tho George Hotol, St. Kilda, whom ho asked
to back a chequo fur him, which at first
Wunpolo refused to do, but knowing the
prisoner's wife thought it would bo all right
and backed it. Tho prisoner cashed tho
choquo at O'Donnoll's grocery store, and when
tho choquo was presented at tho English and
Scottish mid Australian Chartered Bank it
was mnrked " no occount." Tho prisoner was
sentenced to 12 months' imprisonmont.
Ho was also charged with ob
taining £0 10s from Samuol Rich by moans of
false pretences, and was remanded to Sand-
ridgo for Thursday,
Constablo O'Callnglmn charged Edward
i Boigor with not producing hiH license as n cab
man when called upon to do so. Tiio oaso was
proved aud a fino of 5s imposed.
John Collie pleaded guilty to having beon
away from his liorao nnd cab for an unneces
sary -length of timo, nnd was fined 5s, with 2s
(id costs.
Mary O'Brion was charged with being nn
habitual drunkard, and with insulting bo-
bavior in a public place. Tlio bench sentonced
her to threo months imprisonmont.
