Lease of Site lor Public Golf Course.
APPLICATIONS addressed to the Secretary, Department of the
Interior, Canberra, will be received until 2 p m. on Tuesday,
5th January, 1965, for the leise of Block 500 District of Canberra
City under the Leases Ordinance 1918-1958 for a term of 50 years
for the purpose of a Public Golf Course
The reseive rental for the block is £285 per annum and the
piesent unimpiov&d value of the block for rating is £2,850.
Applicants shall state the amount of rental per annum offered
for the lease Rental at the rate offered will be payable quarterly
in advance for the first five years of the lease, and thereafter is
re-appraised for each succeeding period of ten years
The lessee will be required to use the land for the purposes only
of establishing and conducting, on a fee-per-game basis, a Public
Golf Course with grassed greens (comprising at least nine holes),
a golf practice driving range (preferably lighted), practice fairway
and putting facilities, areas for parking players' cars, one building
incorporating a curator's ofhce, dressing rooms with toilets and
showers, a refreshment room with servery, a shop for the sale or
hire of golfing equipment and tuition, and a curator s dwelling
quarters (either contiguous with that building or separate therefrom),
and such groundsman's equipment sheds as may be approved
The lease will require the commencement and completion of
approved buildings costing not less than the sum of £5,000 within
six months and twelve months respectively of the date of commence
ment of the lease and the establishment of grass greens to all holes
within two years from the date of commencement of the lease.
