YORK PIG MARKET.
Elder, Smith & Co., Limited,
report having conducted; their usual
monthly pig market at York,
on Friday February 24, when
they yarded and sold 182 pig's.
The yarding was lighter than
usual and comprised mainly light
to medium weight baconers with
an odd pen of heavy weights and
several pens of attractive porkers.
Competition on an classes
was firmer than the previous fixture.
Quotations:
Baconers: Heavy weight, £G/
8/- to £7/4J-; medium weight,
£5/12/- to £6/8/-; light weight
£5 to £5/12/-.
Porkers: Heavy weight, 85/-
to 100/-; medium weight, 75/- to
85/-; light weight, 65/- to 75/-.
Slips: Well grown, 35/. to 50/'-
Weaners: None ogered.
