tbe following I wrote to you some few weeks
ago about a valuable draught horse, 7 years
old. which wa hnavine very badlv. He also
bad a very bad cougfaaudarunnioR at tbe now.
Igavp hbn 8 dotn of tbe medicine you ordered;
I also put mustard poultices on opposite his
lung, and when I rrmoved tbe mustard aftor
3 hourc, I applied whisky on the part. I did
thU twice. The horse is now a little better of
the heaving, but he is getting very fat. I ,
have steamed his head, and there is n lot of
staff coining from his nose. It seems to be in
bis throat. He eats well. I turn biro out by
day on self sown hay and house him at night.
The horse still coughs badly. I have four
doses of the medicine still left; let me know
throuefa your veterinary columns if 1 can give
it to him; also can I steam his head when 1 atn
giving him the medicine, as tbe steaming seems
to eave him, or can I do anything more for
httn?
Answer.— Straining the horse's bead will do
him no barm if th« horse is alnrht except the
cough. Do not give him any more ot the
medicine. You might try tbe following gargle
and place Vdewtert spoonful on his tongne three
times a day Mix best haney lib, ex. bella
donna 2 drachms, camphor 2 drachms, A
chemist will make it u? for yon.

oems to have lost the sight of it, or nearly eo.
Would you be kind enough to state in your
next isaue what you would advise me to apply
to it?
Answer— Foment the horse's eye two or
three times daily and apply the following
lotion — after fomenting:— Sulphate of zinc 2
grains, water lox; injected into the eye with
to eye syringe.
E.H. P.. Alice Downs, Biack&U, Queensland,
states : — I have a horae, aged, who has lately
btvken out about the upper hp and nostrils
with warts. At present they are uo larger than
a pin's head, but very numerous. Coo you
recommend a cure ?
Answer.— Mix the following and apply daily
over the worts Olive oil, 1 pint ; apirits of
tar, 2 ounces , sulphur, 4 ounces, and give him
a dose of p iysic. I think linseed oil would
be best ; the dose for & horse is frum one pint
to a pint and a half.
