Trade Representative in
New York
CANBERRA, Tuesday.
Among the important appointments
that must soon be made by the
Commonwealth Government is that of
trade representative in New York.
Because of the imminent retirement of
Mr. D. Brown from the position, the
Federal Ministry has given close atten
tion to the matter and it is likely that
Sir Frederick Stewart, M.H.R., the
Parliamentary under-Secretary for
re-employment, will receive the
appointment.
If he is unwilling to accept, the
chief clerk of the Prime Minister's
Department (Mr. H. Farrands) will
probably be considered.
