North Gambier Defeat South j
Saturday's chief match at Mount j
Gambier was between the old rivals.
North and South Gambier, but owing
to the fact that South had already
been eliminated from inclusion in the
final four, interest was not so great as
otherwise would- have been the case.
The match, though, not productive of
the best football, was evenly con
test ed.-
North Gambier scored best up to
half-time, but South showed up well
in the third term, and secured the
lead. The result was in doubt until
the last few minutes, when North
notched the goal which gave them the
decision, the final scores being: —
North, S — S; South, 7 — S. For the
winners, Martiensen, Barry, R. Mill-
house, McArthur, Croker, and Deth-
more played best; while the most
prominent men for South were Law
rence. Tayior, Meller, Aslin, and
Ilsley.
Millicent journeyed to Narracoorte,
where a good; fast game was wit
nessed. Millicent made the pace a
cracker unta half-time, when they
had established a lead. Narracoorte
equalised fhfe- scores at 6 — 8 each by
three-quarter; lime, aad, with Milli
cent tiring perceptibly in the final
round, the home1 team won easily in
the end. . The final result was: — Nar
