tiful at the Adelaide abattoirs last week.
Prices were lower. Exporters limits were
reduced for lambs, but they purchased
5700. The reduction was more marked
on lamb than mutton. Estimated supply
was 10.100 sheep and 13,400 lambs agains
10,200 and 15.050 a week earlier. Den-.anii
for mutton was weaker. Prices wre s
little lower. Although lambs sold well st
opening auctions prices soon receded,
Quotations (estimated price a lb. not
allowing for abattoirs' charges to but-
chers), good to prime wether mutton 2d,
to 3%d., few lightweights and prime hog
gets higher, good to prime ewes 2d. n>
2%d.. good to prime lamb 5%d. to 53.<d.
Another large supply of cattle was yarded
at the Adelaide Abattoirs on Monday. De
mand was dull and prices lower than at
the previous market. A line of 150 prime
weighty bullocks was withdrawn and sent
to Port Adelaide for export as frozen beef.
The offering totalled 1740, compared with
1700 a week ago. Steers predominated and
general quality was fair to good. Some
steers were well bred and attractive.
Quotations (estimated price a 1001b.. not
allowing for abattoirs charges to butchers :
Prime lightweight steers and heifers. 24 -
to 26/-; odd higher. Prime handyweigt,:
steers. 23/- to 25/-; prime medium to heaw
buliocks, suitable ages, 20/- to 22/-; prime
old, 17/- to 20/-; good trade beef, 20, - to
23/-; prime station cows, 18/- to 21-.
