OVENS AND MURRAY
Season's Prospects Bright
Wet weather over the area covered
by the Ovens and Murray Football
League did not deter training opera
tions last week-end.
Competition matches commence on
May 5, and selection committees are
busy moulding their teams into shape.
The Ovens and Murray League, as in
the past, appears to be supplying its
quota of players to the Victorian Foot
ball League. Rutherglen have lost
three players in this way, Hiskens
and the Hallahan brothers: Border
United (Albury) have sent McFarland
for a try out to Richmond, and Stan
Cooper lias been cleared from Yarra-
wonga.
There are several new players join
ing the O. and M. League Clubs. Al
bury clubs have secured the services
of many Tallangatta players, that club
having disbanded as a result of having
no association to affiliate with.
The public are embarking upon the
season with a much more optimistic
note than for many years, and it would
appear evident that the 1934 season is
going to be successful. Several clubs
have decided to engage special trains.
This will be responsible for increased
mterest.
