PERTH, Saturday.
1 hough the weather was hot there
was a large crowd at Belmont Park,
this afternoon, when Tattcrsall's
Club held their annual race meeting.
The racing was full of interest, and
punters/more than held their own with
the odds-yellers.
. The principal race of the day, Tat-
tersall's Club Cup, was won bv the
imported English mare, Apple. Char
lotte, who was ridden' by the young
amateur, Vivian Gdckram, a son of
. the owner of the winner. She was al
lowed' to go out practically unbaoked,
as her form of late has/ been, disap
pointing.

Sherlock and La Camille made the
running ; in the early stages of the
race, but both were settled at the
turn . for . home, .where Gravity went to
the front.. The latter was never head
ed, and won by three arid a half

silver by two lengths for second place.
Orville was fourth, Plattsburg and
Gerardy next, and Sherlock last.

the back Apple Charlotte was out

Maiden. Gravity and Fleet. A great
race home ensued - between Apple
Charlotte, and Gravity, the former
just winning on the post by a head.
Murella was third two lengths away.
Wheelarra was fourth, and Lady Le
