Superintendent O'Callaghan to-day in
spected the district police stations.
The question of erecting a market in com
memoration of the Queen's jubilee reign is
engaging much attention. Farmers and
others interested have promised their sup
port, so that there Bhonld be little difficulty
in having the matter carried through suc
cessfully.
The winning numbers in connection with
Easter Monday sports art nnion are; —(I)
1057, (2) 1783, (3) 15S0, (4) 2500. (5) 1411.
The football season for local district clubs
opens to-morrow, the contesting teams being
as follows:—Creswiok v Midd'eton, Allen
dale v Mount Prospect, Kingston v
Clementston.
Many of our playgoers have’visited Bil-
Inrat during the past week to see Mr Scot
Inglis, who is a Creswick native, in his
various'characters at the Academy of Music.
Creswiok has a reputation for turning out
many prominent men, and Scot Inglia is
worthily upholding the status of the towu.
