mundn for the insolvent. At the request of Mr.
Kdmunds, the bearing was adjourned until Novem
ber 5ind bail was fixed in one surety of j&lOQ,
or two of £50.
Stephen Jubez Francis Stephen^ formerly of
Tuinby Bay and Marryatvilh:, Carpenter.—Final
hearing. The accountant reported insolvent's la
bilities to be £142 11/10, lirxi his assets niL In
his schedule the insolrent stated that about 1900
was free from deb:. lie was then
employed as a carpenter, and was earning- about
£2 8/ per week. He left Adelaide for Tuinby
Bay in 1905, arid returned in 11XJ7. During tlie
post eleven years he had averaged about au
nciklly. He was not in constant employment ow
ing to sickness. Jin had tried to keep out of
debt. He had a wife and sir children, the lat
ter ranging in ages from 14 years to 0 mouths.
One child, a boy. was a severe sufferer from hip
disease, and had received special attention for
the pa*< 10 years. The accountant stated rhat
the insolvent appeared for many year* post to
have lived entirelv upon credit, at tintes raising
loans for domestic purposes. Hie Commissioner
granted a second-class certificate.

Fimtl hearing. The accoinrtaut reported the in
solvent's liabilities to be JX3 2/7, and his ai^eta
niL The insolvent in his schedule stated he was
free from debt in 1900, when he was. farming in
the Angus Valley district wiliiout success. Then
he iarmcd on halves with William Wendc, of
Black Hill, and UiU venture also proved unsuc
cessful. He worked as a tzxm laborer, and sub
sequently wagjilriving on the zcads between Gedan
and Adelaide.* Later on he accepted work on a
farm at Sanderson. on the Murray Flats, where
he was still employed. For the lapt fonr years
hi* weekly earnings had averaged about 30/ a
w«k; previous to that they averaged about 20/
: a week. He had a wife and four children, and
owing to pressure of creditors declared himself
insolvent. The accountant stated that thn insol
vent was quite willing to pay his liabilities*, but
said he had not had the opportunity. A recond
daes certificate was ordtrrd.
