WHOLESALE PRODUCE MARKET.
Ballarat, Saturday.
Market Inspector’s Report.—Hay—There
■was a falling-off in the supply of "heaves,
and there is a fair demand. '271 tons.
Maneer hay, £2 to £2 S’? wheaten
£1 12s 6d to £1 17" 6d; oaten sheaves,
£1 10a to £1 15s 6d per ton. Straw—There
is a fair demand for straw. 28 tons. £1
10a to £1 12a 6d per ton. Gats—There is
a moderate demand for oats, and prices
are unchanged. 792 bush-ls. Is 6d to la
lod per bushel. Wheat—There is not much
doing in wheat. 3s 31 per bushel for mill
ing Bainples. Peas—There is a fair demand
for peas, and prices are unchanged. 2092
bushels. 2s to 2s Id per bushel. Barley—
There is an enquiry for barley, and prices
are firm. 'Cape, 2s to 2s Id; English, 3s
SI per bushel. Potatoes—There was an
increase in the supply of potatoes, with a
fair demand. 50 tons. £2 10s to £2 12s Gd'
per ton.
Messrs Brophy, Foley, and Dowling, re
port:—A fair business has been done for the
week. Hay—Demand equal, to supplies.
Oats have steady enquiry .at late rates.
Wheat— Fair demand for medium sorts,
peas—Clean, sound samples, in request.
Barley not over-brisk; enquiries'for . prime
malting. Potatoes and onions-.are moving
off fairly well. Flour, bran, and pollard iu
fair demand. Cinaing quotations;—Flour—
Stone, £7 5s to £7 10s roller, £S os to £S
lor. Bran, Si to' Sid. Pollard, 9d to 10d.
Wheat—Milling, 3s 3d; medium, 2-> lid to
3s Id. Oats—Algerian, la 61 to la Sd; Tar

Barley—Malting, 3s 5d to 3*9-1; Cape, 2s
to 2s Id. Peas, 2s to 2s Id. Hay—Wlieat>-n,

sheaves, £2 10s. Straw, 52s Gd to .->os.
Potatoes, £2 10s to £2 15s. Onions, £3 to

Messrs A. M. Greenfield and Cos. report:—
A good business for the week at quotations.
Supplies have been fairly heavy, and the
markets close at-ady. Wheat has buyers at
3s 2d to Ss 2£d for milling; feed Rorts,:3s.
Oats are unchanged; but quiet at Is 6-1 and
Is 7d for Algerian to Is Sd fur Daniel), Rnd
Is 9d to Is lOd for fair to good stout.
Peas—Good euquiry at 2s; deliveries fairly
heavy nominally. Barley—Prime malting.
3s 9d to 4*; Cape. 2s to 2s Id. Potatoes, £2

Messrs John \V. Gray and Cos. report:—
There haß been a fair amouut of business
done this week, and quotations are steady,
the market being more settled. Wheat is
firm in price at 3s 3d for good milling.
Oats are largely supplied to a moderate de
mand. Algerians, Is Gd tn Is 7d; » fair en
quiry for Danish at Is Sd to Is 3d, short
from Is iOd to Is lid. Peas meet a fair de
mand at 2s to 2s id. Barley—A good en
quiry for malting at 3s 9d to 4s, and very
little off-ring; Cape, a moderate demand, at
2s to 2s Id. Potatoes are coming forward in
good condition, and selling at £2 -10s to £2
15s. The supply has been much lighter this
week, and prices a shade firmer. B-st
whsaten sheaves to 37s 6-1; medium, 32s G.l
to 355; oaten do, 30s to 35-; manger loads,
£2 to £2 5s Straw—Rather more to hand,
30s t-> 32s Gd. Manure salt, £2;- Jopling’s
honeitust, £G.
Messrs Chas. Vaughan and Cos. report:—
Only a small supply of hay came forward
this week to an improved demand at ail
advance on laßt week’s prices. Other
produce remains unchanged, at quntat.inns:—
Wheat, 3s to 3a 31, O ita are in fair request
atla'6l to Is lid. Barley—English, 3s to
3< Gd; Capo, la 10d to 2sl 21. Peas lmve a
fair demand at 2s to 2s Id. Sheaves aro in
better demand at £1 15s to ££ f or liest
chuffing; manger hay, £2 to £2 5 s; straw, £1
10s to il 12- Gd. Potatoes are fully supplied
to a good demand at £2 7a Gd tn £2 15s.
Flour has had a limited business, £7 10s tn
£3, and as the wheat market is firm we
cannot see any room for it to go low-r, but
low class flours have a depressing effect on
this and the metropolitan markets. Bran
has only had a moderate business at S', and
