BALLARAT SOCIETY OF ARTS
A SUCCESSFUL GARDEN FFTE.
A most enjoyable and successful garden
fete was held Yesterday afternoon, under
the auspices of the Society of A[?] in the
beautiful grounds of “Carn B[?]." Mair
street, v.diicli bad been kindly lent for the
occasioii by Mrs Retallac-k. 'Hie day was

No effort was spared to render the fete
highly successful -nd agreeable. Apart
from the'opportunity which was afforded
for a social reunion under most pleasant;
conditions, varied means of recreation,
and amusement wore provide':!. It will
be seen by the subjoined list that up
wards of ‘TO ladies actively interested
themselves in ensuring the sncc.-s. of the
fete, and the- stalis proved exceptionally
enticing to purchasers. ’I he following
