MR./H. HOMBURG. M.P.
Mr. Robert Homburg, M.P., who has
succeeded Mr. V. L. (Solomon, M.P., as
Leader of the Opposition in the Housj -ji
Assembly, was bom at Brunswick, tiermany,
in 1S48. He came to South Australia
with nis parents wnen he was about
12 years of age. After a short residence at
fanunda he removed tq Adelaide, and began
his studies for the Bar in tiie office
of Sir Jaines Penn Boucaut, and subsefluently
served under Sir John Down or,
K.C. He wjs admitted to the Bar in
and ten. years later 'was returned to the
House of Assembly as one of the re;:reser>ta-t'ves
for Gumeracha. In August, 1800,
ne was appointed Attorney-Cienci-ai m
Playford Government. Me last his portlolio
when that ^Ministry was overthrown
in June, 1892, but returned to office in
August of tne same year as a member or
Sir John Downer's Ministry.
