A VOTE OF CENSURE ON THE
GOVERNMENT.
LONDON, Saturday.
In the Honse of Commons last night, Mr
John Morloy, in moving that a vote of censure
bo passed on the Government for their action
with regard to the Dongola expedition, stated
that if the Government feared that the success
of Khalifa, the Mahdi’s successor, would en
danger the safety of Egypt, the soheme
adopted by them was very dangerous and
altogether inadequate to cope with the diffi
culty, and was without any rational basis.
, Mr Balfonr, First Lord- of .the .Treasury,
said that it was impossible to be satisfied with
the position of affairs in Egypt until the
whole of the Soudan had been regained; and,
continuing, Mr Balfour observed Great Britain
intends to advance and to stay.
