A.M.A. OF VICTORIA.
A meeting the executive council of the
above was held at Creswick yesterday. The
following o ffi cers and delegates were present[?]
-Messrs J. Praed (prsident), chair; J. Bennett
(vice-president). A. B. Groan (secretary),
G. Hawke, J. Williams, W. Bade. J.
Crosbie T. H.Lawn, J. Jones, J. Hard,
W. Lambert, J. Flagstaff, G. W. Eichardson.
Goreespondence was read from the Minister
oi Aimes explaining the reason. why he was
not at the conference. From the Malmsbnry
Dranoh, in reference to the proposed reduc
tion of wages. The president explained that
he had Tisited. Malmsbury, and also in
terviewed the directors o£ the company,
and was pleased to say that matters
were now amicably settled, and that no
reduction of wages was to take place.

T. H. Lawn was elected to the position of ex
president. Messrs G. Hawke and W. Bade
were appointed members of executive com
mittee to aot with the officers in cases of
emergency. Mr J. Flagstaff was elected on
the finance committee. Mr Sainsbury was
auditor, vice Mr Lawn, resigned. The
executive committee were appointed to draft
a report on general questions carried at the
conference, to be laid before the Premier and
Minister Mines, and the officers will inter
view the Minister of Miues on the 2nd prox.,
with a view to having proposals carried out.
Accounts amounting to £ll4 14s 3d were
passed for payment. The re3t of the council
meetings for the current term will be held in
Ballarat.
