Governor Will
Stay 13 Months
The King has approved Sir Winston
Dugan continuing in office as Governor of
Victoria for a further period expiring on
June 30, 1949.
This will mean that Sir
Winston and Lady Dugan will
be in office during the visit to
Victoria next May of the King.
Queen Elizabeth and the Prin
cess Margaret.

Dugan to remain in Victoria

made recently by the Premier
(Mr. Hollway) on behalf of
the State Government. His
term as Governor was to have
expired on May 31.
Appointed Governor of Vic
toria in 1939. after a period of
five years as Governor of South
Australia, Sir Winston Dugan
has been reappointed twice and
has accepted several exten
sions. He has also been Act
ing Governor-General for short
periods.
