EMPIRE WAR
MEMORIAL
LONDON, Mar. 2 (A.A.P.).
Lord Queenborough, president
of. the Royal . Society of . St.
George, in a personal message to
the society, suggested the erection
ui an umpire war memorial In
the bombed area around St.
Paul's Cathedral, which, he said,
"would become one of the world's
wonders, like Abraham Lincoln's
memorial in Washington, and
would he a symbol of our grlei
and pride."
Lord Queensborough added that
there could be a temple of re
membrance, in which the names
of the dead could be recorded,
with a garden of remembrance
which would be an oasis of peace
and quietude..
