WASHINGTON. April 24.
LRst-mlnute attempts by the
"Big Three" Foreign Ministers
to solve the Polish problem prior
; to the San Francisco conference
have failed, forcing Mr. Stet-
; tinius, Mr. Eden and M. Molo-
j tov to postpone continuation of
i their discussions until they arrive
at San Francisco.
This setback was disclosed by
White House officials In an an
nouncement issued after a full
day . of diplomatic talks and a
24-minute session between. ; Presi-:
dent Truman and. M. Molotov.
The announcement said that,- in
view of the limited time remain
ing before the meeting and in
order to permit M. Molotov to
consult with Moscow, "discussions
in regard to the Polish situation
will be continued by the: three
Foreign Secretaries in San Fran-

during the day by a memoran
dum presented by the Polish
exiled Government in London to
the British and American Go
vernments expressing- regret at
not being invited to San Fran

further hinder the possibility of
a settlement, and there are Some
reports that a new Anglo-Ameri
can plan for solving Polish re
presentation has been proposed to
M. Molotov, and that he had
passed it on to Moscow for con
sideration. However, no delega
tion from Poland now . will be
able to attend the' early sessions,
and probably Poland will riot be,
represented during the major
phases of forming a permanent
organisation of ' the -. United
nations. ' ;'x
' Moscow Denials
Meanwhile, Moscow Radio has
broadcast a Soviet; News; Agency
statement denying',reports" that
the; Crimea Conference.! had de
cided- that, .only -representatives of
a reorganised Polish Governriierit
could be . invited to San ' Fran

The. statement -says: "This
question was not eVen discussed
at Crimea,, therefore the/Crimea

Popular ' interest centres on the
Russian . delegation; which, . ac-r
