SHIPS

Air Raids
LONDON, May 2 (A.A.P.).
An Admiralty communique an-
' nounces that our submarines have
sunk an additional 10 enemy ships
which were attempting a passage
between the Axis controlled Medi-
terranean ports. One large tanker
bound for Tunis was torpedoed,
after a submarine penetrated an
unusually strong protective screen.
A small tanker was sunk by.:gun-
firc off the west coast of Italy,
and two small supply ships in the
same area were sunk by torpedo.
A large ship near Monte Cristo
Island, between Italy and Cor
sica, apparently laden with muni
tions and petrol, blew -up after a
torpedo hit. .....>.
Other successful attacks were
made on the east coast of Cor
sica, where a large transport and

and also off the enemy occupied
tip of Tunisia, where a large
motor supply ship was sunk
by torpedo. A small supply ship
and an escort vessel were sunk
by torpedo near the north-west
coast of Sicily.
