LONDON, May 9 (A.A.P.).
' A Delhi joint communique
stated: — "The enemy east -of
Mayu Ridge secured a position

from Buthidaung. Despite sub-
. stantial casualties, the Japanese

threatening our positions. R.A.F.
planes on Friday attacxed troops

Medium bombers hit rail installa
tions at Sedaw. between Manda-
lav and Lashio. Medium loomber
on Fridav dropped i'J tons of
bombs on a bridge 25 miles west
of Mandalav. Heavy bombers
dropped 27 tons of bombs on
Toungoo. and also destroyed an
enemy fighter and damaged
another. Our fighters bombed
positions 17 miles north-cast of
Myitkyina. One of our recon
naissance planes is missing."
