LULL IN RAIDS ON
BRITAIN
LONDON, May 8 (A.A.P.).
An Air Ministry communique says
enemy activity last night was on a
very small scale. A few bombs fell
at points in South-East England,
causing slight damage at one point,
but there were no casualties. Two
raiders were destroyed.
It is believed that only about six
raiders were over Britain last night.
An alert sounded in one London area
early this morning, but no planes were
reported. The last night alert in Lon
don was over six months ago.
There were three raids on places
on the south-east coast in daylight
yesterday. Some damage was caused
at one place and some casualties, in
cluding a small number of persons
killed. Our fighters shot down an
enemy bomber off the south coast be
fore dark.
