JAPAN FOR THE
JAPANESE
War Slogan
WASHINGTON, May 21 (A.A.P.).
Following yesterday's meeting of
the Pacific War Council, the New
Zealand Minister to Washington (Mr.
Nash) said the meeting was the most
interesting yet held. Members had
adopted the slogan 01 "japan tor. cne
Japanese," implying that the policy
was to put the Japanese back into
their own Islands and keep them
there. The meeting had examined
the general Pacific picture, which he
described as "not bad." He added,
however: "We still have a long way
to go."
At this point the British ambassa
dor (Lord Halifax) Interposed: "We
are building up."
Mr. Nash - added that President
Roosevelt had given details of Brlga-.
dier-General Doolittle's magnificent
exploit in bombing Tokio. He said:—
"We will have to think out another
exploit of that type."
The Chinese delegate (Mr. Soong)
said they wished the slogan of Japan
for the Japanese to be disseminated
for general circulation. It looked as
if Japan was going to make a very
serious effort to defeat China this
summer.
