Dr. FELIX MEYER.
The death of Dr. Felix Meyer, which
occurred on Tuesday night at his residence,
Avalon-road, Armadale, closed a
notable career in medicine and surgery.
The funeral yesterday was a private one.
The late Dr. Meyer was born in Melbourne
in 1858, and was educated at
school in Geelong, at Wesley College,
Melbourne, and at Melbourne University,
where he graduated with a M.B., B.S., with
honors, in 1880. During over thirty-five
years' association with the Women's Hospital
he was senior indoor gynæcological
surgeon and senior ind obstetrician,
and was responsible for the establishment
of nursing training facilities there.
He also acted for a time as a gynæcologist
at Melbourne Hospital. For six years he
was lecturer in obstetrics and gynæcology
at the University. He was a former
president of the Victorian branch of the
B.M.A.
