DUNLOE WINS IN GOOD STYLE AT
GEELONG.
ST. ALBANS BRED MARE.
PERRYB1NGLE SCORES.
The Gcelong club bad extensive patron
age for its meeting yesterday.
. Racing opened with the Anakle Trial
Handicap, of one mile, a distance which
will possibly be eliminated from tbe Gee-
long course. Mascarades, favorite, was
always well placed, but in tho final tur-
long was beaten into third position. Gay
Park was first to show out and, with
Wangonella, led the field to tho turn.
On the bend Braveuse got on terms with
Gay Park and Wanganella. The leaders
ran wide, allowing Glopian to come
through near the rails. Mascarades, wide
out, challenged Glopian, but the latter
went on strongly to win. Annavce fin
ished lost to be second, a neck in front
of Moscarades.
Stirring Finish.
The public was well on the mark in
the first division of' the Novice Handi
cap, as the three placed horses were
at the shortest prices. Wolcent started
smartiy, and was closely attended by
Kalispel, Clan Alpine and Love Chat
ter At the tunr Love Chatter ran to
the front from Wolcent and Kalispel.
In a stirring finish Love Chatter warded
off Wolcent, and Miss Stolla was just
ahead of Clan Alpine for third place.
In tho second division Owen Roe was
away badly, out within the first furlong
and a half had run up third. Princess
Balboa, the New Zealand mare, set the
pace, and at the turn had a three
lengths lead from Dlngaan's Son, with
Owen Roe next. Princess Balboa was
first into the straight, but at the dis
tance Lucky Spray came from midflcld
on the outside, and won by half a
neck.
Wins at Odds-on.
Pcrryblnglo, an odds-on favorite, jus
tified that confidence. Tho field was
somewhat difficult to start, and Pam and
Lohara wero away badly. Pin High,
first to show out, was attended by Yul-
dlr and Colonel Dazzle. Entering the
straight Pin High was just in front, but
Peirybingle finished very strongly to win
by a length and three-quarters.
Return to Form.
The St. Albans stud masters, Messrs.
H. G. Raymond and II. B. Ranken,
secured tho chief event of tho meeting
with Dunloc, who ran a line race in the
Grovcdalo Handicap. Dunloc at barrier
rise settled down behind Grccnoss. A.
Brcasley was content to let the mare
remain thero for most of tho journey.
At the half-mile Dunloc was temporarily
displaced from second position by High-
ardo, who had made a fast run. and
turning into the straight the order was
Greeuoss, Hlghardo, who went out very
wide and lost ground, and Dunioe. Over
the last furlong Dunioe finished reso
lutely to win by three-quarters of a
length.
Favorite Unplaced.
Tippo Tib made the early pace in the
Drumcondra Welter. Epigram was left
at tho post. Attending Tippo Tib were
Skipping Girl and Amanore. Into the
straight Arrathe, who had moved up
well coming down the hill, was first to
straighten up from Skipping Girl, Ama
nore and Jangler. Amanore shortly ufter
went to tho front from Jangler, but
Jangler drew away to win by a length.
The favorite, Kenilfort, was beaten into
fifth place
