America Issues
Agenda
WASHINGTON; Oct) 1 (A.A.P.).
An agenda has: been circulated
by the United States Government
to over 50 invited nations for the
world aviation conference to be
held on November 1 at a place
to be designated. The agenda
follows the suggestions made by
the. United States last month,
under which provisional world
routes will -be established by
general agreement. An Interim
council is proposed, to act as a
clearing house .'.advisory agency
during the transition' period:
Principles will be laid down for
establishing a permanent interna
tional air organisation, and a new
multi-lateral aviation convention
will be drafted and technical com
mittees nppointcd. The New York
"Herald-Tribune's" Washington
correspondent . points out that
'Argentina has not been invited to
the conference.
The Canadian Press correspon
dent at Ottawa reports that pro
bably Empire air conversations
will be held at Ottawa before , the
American meeting. Empire dele
gates, In addition to considering
the- general question, may discuss
specific inter-Empire problems,
such as a proposal for a trans
pacific service operated jointly by
Canada, Australia and New Zea
land, , which' has been mooted for
some time.
A- despatch from Canberra In
dicated such a service might be
started under air force auspices,
but the R.C.A.F. has not asked
so far to participate, although it
operates a trans-Atlantic service
for mails for the Canadian
troops.
