CORRESPONDENTS
IN FRANCE
Difficulties in Early
Stages
LONDON, July. 19 (A.A.P.),
Mr. Thomas Driberg, in the
House of Commons, asked if the
Minister for War was aware that
facilities available to war corre-
spondents and photographers with
the British forces In Normandy
compared unfavorably with those
available to correspondents and
photographers with the Ameri
can force, and if he would take
steps to remedy this with a view
to a balanced presentation of the
' Allied invasion effort in America,
the British Empire and through
out the world.
The Financial Secretary of the
War Office (Mr. Henderson) said :
—"X understahd that in the
early stages of the operations in
Normandy British correspondents
were at some disadvantage. I am
glad to say this has been recti
fied, and American and British
correspondents now enjoy equal
