DAWN ATTACK ON
ENEMY CONVOY
LONDON, Aug. 14 (A.A.P.).
Coastal Command Beaufighters,
escorted by Spitfires, at dawn on
Sunday blasted a German con-
voy of 13 ships off the Frisian
Isles, and left two merchantmen
and five flak ships on fire after
an attack with rockets, torpedoes
and cannon.
A Victorian, Flying-Officer
Frank Proctor, said: — "I saw a
rocket hit the front turret of a
flak ship. Both the gun and the
gunner went into the sea. The
whole ship was aflame a few
minutes later."
