SHIPS COLLIDE
IN GALE
Lifeboats Out
LONDON, Dec. 13 (A.A.P. ).
/ rwo British ships collided dur-;
ing "a; gale early- to-day, about'
four miles north of Flamborouglr
Head (Yorks) . They were the
motor tanker Empire Tigaven, 972
tons, and the steamer Cormoat,
2880 tons. Empire Tigaven was
badly holed.
Flamborough and Filey life
boats took off and landed 14 of
the crew of the tanker, but the
captain and three officers are
still aboard. The lifeboats have
returned to the ship and are
standing by.
