MAN FATALLY
STABBED
Woman Charged
With Murder
Early yesterday evening James
Dominic Murphy, 37 years,
laborer, employed -at Essendon
aerodrome, was found lying faco
downward on the floor of a bath
room n.l. nrpmisPK in Rownnn.nnt.
ade, Richmond, where he resided.
He was bleeding from a ; wound in
the chest.
About ten minutes previously
Miss Susie Veronica Henry, a

knock at the front door, and saw
a woman, who said she wanted
to see Murphy urgently. Miss
Henry told him- ..he was wanted
at the door. Shortly afterwards
she heard moans, - and- found
Murphy in the bathrqom on the
first floor. He was put to bed
and a doctor was summoned. He
found him to be dead.
Senior Detective Donellv and
Detectives Ourrer and Ford went
to the house in Rowena-parade,
and afterwards visited premises
In Tanner-street, Richmond,
where a woman who had been
keeping company with deceased
for some time was Interviewed.
On- a vacant allotment nearby
Detective Ford found a knife.
Another knife was found In the
backyard of the premises. The
police learned that deceased had
recently made two knives for the
woman for peeling potatoes. It
is alleged that about 5.30 p.m.'
yesterday they met in Stewart-
street, Richmond, where they
quarrelled. The woman was taken
to , . Russell-street and ques
tioned.
Later, Ruby May Udell, -41
years. Tanner-street, Richmond,
was charged with having mur
dered Murphy.
