BANK 1512 d. OLD SCOTCH 11.14.
State Savings Bank was stronger In the
ruck, and the half backs were, too good for
the Old Scotch forwards, but in other depart
ments of the game the players were evenly
matched. Instcnd of fading away in the last
quarter, ns thev did towards the end of last
season, the defeated tenm challenged strongly,
but was too far behind to affect the Issue.

Mclburnlans commenced well and gained a
three-goal lend, but slumped badly in the
second quarter, allowing Coburg to gain a
lend, which they held for the remainder of
the game. Mclburnlans gained the lead near
the finish, but Coburg added two goals within
the Inst ten minutes. As the ball rang Cooper
(Melburntans) was .30 yardB out of goal and
running with the ball, but he kicked too Into.

MALVERN 10.14 d. ORMOND 9.10.
Old rivals, Malvern nnd Ormond, provided
an excellent game for nearly 2000 spectators.
Malvern has built up a big. fast side, which
should go a long way. but Ormond was play
ing nlno new men. There was not much be
tween the teams, however, and when tho new
men work Into the Ormond system the side
should be a good one. Best players: — Mal
vern: Mclvor, Leonard, Dickson, Sibley. Or
mond: Thomas, Foilett. Quinn, Brooke. Goal
Kickers,— Malvern: Ward 15), Sibley (3), Mil-
ler, RyJey. Ormond: Quinn (6), Yates (2),
McCartney.
IVANHOE 12.21 d. TEACHERS . 11.10.
Ivanhoe showed better system than Teach
ers, but, despite the scores, the game was
fairly even. Poor kicking on the part of
ivanhoe forwards caused many attacks to re
sult In failure. Teachers' College has almost
a new team, and It will need to shdke down
together if the side is to be as good as last
Sear's. Beat Players.— Ivanhoe: Clough,
'Connor, Steel, Smith. Teachers.— Vereker, T.
Perry, Smyth, Hunt. Goal Kickers.— Ivanhoe:
