District Scheme Threatened.
MORNINGTON.— At a meeting of the
Peninsula leaguo It was reported that an
effort was being mado hy clubs opposed to
the district football scheme (which tho league
introduced tills season with a view to Improv
ing the otandard of play) to form 'an asso-
ciation in opposition to U.
-Mr. T. White (Poarcedalc) wrote stating
that he had been approached by several per
sons regarding tho forming ot an associa
tion, and 'said he did not want to seo this

It was ' stated that If another association
was formed of tljo clubs which havo failed
to come Into the district schcine, it would
not be able to affiliate with any body, and all
players taking part would place themselves
under disqualification from playing league
football for three seasons.
