COLLINGWOOD OR SOUTH MELB.?
i
Austin Robertson's Farewell Appearance
MELBOURNE'S outstanding football attraction to-morrow is to bo
stoged ot Victoria Park, where the South Melbourne men, who
are now challenging dtisporatoly for a placo in tho final four, arc to moot
Collingwood, who fell from second to third position on tho premiership
list last Saturday.
Both combinations can play football at its best, and a huge crowd
should be regaled with one of tho most entertaining contests of the year.
South Melbourno supporters are certain to attend in their thousands
to see Austin Roberison, their champion all-rounder, who has been trans
ferred to Perth, perform as a South and Victorian player for tho last time
TJROSPECTS of Collingwood defeating
South Melbourne as comfortably as
they d|d enrly in tho season aro by no
means bright. The improved showing of
.the Southerners lately, and tho unsettling
of the Collingwood team due to a -long
list of misfortunes has altered the bal«
onco of the scales to a mora even level
Seeing the match Is at Victoria Park
nnd that last Saturday's defeat nt Oeelong
was not a pointer to tho Magpies' true
form. Collingwood should play 'a great
deal better to-morrow.
Two changes liave been made and also &
reshuffle of positions on tho back lines. J.
Murphy comes Into the sldo and occupies a
back pocket. Dowllng, best flrst-seasob
player of last yoar, wjio has played three
games only this season owing to Injury, re
sumes on tho wing. Boy&il has beon placed
on tho half-back flank making way for
Bowyor, a much more experienced player, to

the match against Collingwood Prior to
the completion of the rubbing down In the

C. Jones, interviewed each player .as to

the O.K. Bob Pratt, however, Is still
troubled with his injured .foot, and Judging
by his condition last night, he may miss
several, If not the Whole, of the remaining
engagements— a severe blow to South.
One alteration was made In the South side
by tho selectors, Smith being -relncludcd In
placo of Mclnnes, who la sMll on tho injured

and Foul drops Into the other pocket JiclU
by Austin at tho start of/ last Saturday's
game. Austin goes to tho centre; Cleary, to
the half-back flank to link up with Grahum
and Robertson across that line; Mooro is to
play on the half-forward flank, and Evans
goes In an centre forward. Patterson Is tu
bo nineteenth man again, und Hacker is flrst
