gattle Prices Up
at Newmarket
Bullock prices were irregular in
morning sales at Newmarket yesterday,
but improved to £1 dearer in the after
noon. Calves, began firm, and later
advanced fo £1 dearer, and store
cattle were firm to dearer.
BULLOCKS.— The Increased pen
nlnff of 1263 (263 more) was of
good quality, buyers having a good
selection oi all weights, prime heavy
cattle especially being well repre
sented, There . wore a lew drafts
oi prime steers 'and bullocks from
the Rlvcrlna.

(389 fewer) was the smallest offer
ing for many months, and' again It
was only of moderate quality prime
vcalers . particularly being in short
supply. Demand was animated,
values being very firm in morning
auctions, while In the afternoon,
when many buyers were unsuppllcd,
prices appreciated £1. Prime light
vealcrs, 210/-235/ per 100 lb.:
prime heavy, 190/-210/.
STORE CATTLE.— The yarding of
325 was of mixed quality and In
cluded a few lots of well-bred Here
ford and A. A. steers and a 'ew
drafts of cows with calves at foot,
but no fattening aged cattle. Com
petition was keen from a good
number of graziers, values being
firm to dearer.
