Fresh Start Possible
in Armistice Talks
TOKIO, Aug. 28 (A.A.P.-Reuters) .-General Ridg
way may propose to the Communists a fresh start in
the Korean armistice talks. This is stated by the .
.United Press quoting reliable sources.
- These sources said Gene
ral Ridgway might send the
Communists a suggestion
that both sides appoint new
negotiating teams and- shift
the conference away from
the Incident- ridden Kaesong
zone.

Curt Meeting
Earlier today a Communist
and Allied liaison olfider met
for 10 seconds In a village in
Kaesong zone for handing
over North Korea's latest note
on1 the suspended cease-fire
talks. The North Korean,
Colonel Chang, said curtly,
"This is for Ridgway," as he
passed folded sheets of paper
to the South Korean Colonel
Lee Soo Young, who flew to
the village in -a helicopter.- The
Note is believed to be an official
transcript of a message broad
cast by Peking Radio yester
day. This demanded that
General Ridgway send liaison
officers to Kaesong for a new
investigation of the alleged
bombing there. '
The Communist Note was
transmitted to the U.N. com
mander In Tokio, who imme
diately began studying It.
