GEELONG
It is expected that the new premises
of the Bank of New South Wales at the
corner of Moorabool and Ryrlc streets
will be opened for business In the first
week in December. The bank will oc
cupy tho basement and Dractlcaily tilt
whole of the ground floor, while the two
upper floors will be let as professional
suites and offices. Two shops have been
provided, one In Moorabool-street and
one in Ryrie-strcet, Another Important
addition to the business section in
Moorabool-street Is1, the new building
erected for Woolworths. This building
is now practically complete and, it Is- ex
pected; will be- opened for business next
week, "
The disappearance of 23 Corriedale
sheep and 20 lambs from, the paddocks
of Mr. Thomas T. Weigall, Bellbrae. has
been reported to the police. Tho sheep
were missed from the paddocks between
Ootobor 16 and November 16, wlilie shear
ing was In progress,'
The centenary celegratlons committee
has received a number of tenders for tho
purchase of the electrical fittings and
features used in the celebrations. In
quiry is also being made for the banners

The Newtown and Ohilwell council lias
: agreed to erect dressing accommodation
for man swimmers on the banks of the
Bar won at the foot of Fakington-strcet
. and at Queen's Park. Consideration of
: the provision of dressing accommodation
for woman bathers will be given If it
, i-s found that there is a demand for such
accommodation.- 'The engineer lias been
instructed to prepare a report on the
, question of cleaning the river bed at the
I swimming sites.
