FOR KINDERGARTEN
CUPBOARD
More than 200 guests who attended
the Agnes Ettershank Memorial even
ing at Kensington town hall last night
brought gifts of tea, biscuits, sugar,
jam, cocoa, &c., to stock the cupboard
at Flemington and Kensington Presby
terian Free Kindergarten. During the
evening a tribute was paid to the laie

function for the past 12 years.
A musical programme was arranged
by Miss Myrtle Liddy, and the ar
tists were Misses Sylvia Oliver, Mary
Macdonald, Jessie Notman and Nancy
McKillcn. T , ,
The guest speaker was Miss Isobel
Macdonald, and her subject was Value
of Child Life.
Among those present were the presi
dent of the kindergarten committee
(Rev. A. A. Mackenzie), the vice-presi
dents (Mr. A. Scott and Rev. J. W.
Briggs), the hon. secretary (Mrs. A. B.
R. Mackenlze), and the directress
(Mrs. E. B. Gordon).
To assist the Melbourne District
Nursing Society and the After-Care
Hospital, members of the Maud Pathan
auxiliary held a successiul bridge party
yesterday. More than 200 guests wqre
welcomed by the president, Mrs. Rip-
pon Sargood, who was assisted bv the
secretary, Mrs. J. Simpson, and the
I treasurer, Mrs. J. Crosbie.
