STARLING CUP.
Falls to A. Rowbotham.
Marksmen were present in large nun
bers nt Melbourne Gun Club's grounds nt
Tottenham on Saturday, when the -pro
gramme wns one of all-starling events.
The principal shoot was the Grand Na
tional starling cup, 10 birds from handi
cap marks. Visiting sportsmen came
from Geelong, Sydney, Seymour, Wood-
end. Diggers' Rest and Kyncton.
All competitors showed good form,
according to the birds that they drew.
Arthur Rowbotham, the winner of the
cup. who shoots under the name of
"Paige." displayed remarkable skill after
& long absence from the traps. Another
fine performer was S. J. Gardner, of
Seymour, who shot remarkably well with
out any usslstance from luck. Results: —
Event No. 1. 4-blrd. — T. Quarrel! and "Har
rison," each 4-4, equal, divided.
Event No. 2, Mfom Out. — "Paige." 4-1, l;
N. Cummtng and Rnblnnon, 3-4 euvii, 2.
Event No. 3, Grand National Starling Cup,
10 birds from handicap marks, — "Paige," 8-
10, 1; N. Cumming, 13-10, 2; C. Mues, 12-16.
3. Grand National starling Sweepstakes.— First
money to "Paige," 6ecoud ana third money
divided by Cummlng un<l Muc.

stars first or second round.— On the flltli
round £1 per noni. was taken by Mues.
"Tongala," Quarrell (Woodend), S. L. Snlpo
(2 nom.), "Calrossie," Cummlng and "Har
rison." At tho end of the seventh round iho
balance was divided by "Tonga!, " Quarrell,
Snlne (2 nom.) and "Harrison."
Event No. 5, Miss Out. — "Calrossie," Mucr,
"Paige" and '/Harrison" divided.
On Thursday next, at 10.30 a.m., the club
will decide the Commonwealth Plscon Cham
pionship. On Friday, at 10.30 a.m., a
pigeon handicap of £130 will bo held, fol
lowed by sweepstake.
