V.R.C. LICENCES.
Trainers and Jockeys.
Lengthy consideration was given by
the committee .of the Victoria Racing
CUib, at a special meeting1 yesterday, to
applications for permits, to ride and
train.
Amongst those trainers granted an A
licence were H. McConnell, who has
scored in recent months with Dom-
ford, Top Speed and Tlntem; J. Jury,
who prepares Richmond Tiger and Elec
tric Flyer amongst others, and a former
well-known cross-country rider In F. w.
McCabc.
A permit io train was granted to T.
Lewis, who for a number of years has
been a successful jockey. R. P. Tri-
hoy. the trainer of Regular Bachelor,
winner of the last Futurity Stakes and
Newmarket Handicap, who Intends to
establish his head quarters at Men -one,
was granted a trainer's permit.
There were no surprises In regard to
the trainers and jockeys holding licences
for the past season, and in all cases
they were renewed.
At the conclusion the following report
was issued: —
Jockeys' licences A were granted to B.
K. Collins (Dandcriong) and F. E. Munro
(Mprdlalloc). for three months. Jockeys'
licences B to T. Northovcr (Caulfield),
previously, held A- licence; N. Mclnnes
(Longwhrry), and H. R. Lee (Kensing
ton), with permission to ride within the
metropolitan area In jumping and jump
ers' flat events. Metropolitan trainers'
licences were granted to the following,
who previously held a general permit to
train: — H. J. Cousens (Elsternwick), J.
Jury (Carnegie), H. McConnell (Mor-
dialloc). W. A. Mclnnes (Ascot Vale),
F. W.' McCabe (East Malvern), and T.
Giennon (Ascot Vale), who did not hold
a licence during 1935-36. Permits to
train to E. Miller (Ascot Vale), K. D.
Godby (Carnegie), R. K. Kerr (Mal
vern). W. Sullivan (Moonec Ponds), R.
P. Trihey (Cabrnmatta), J. F. L. Webb
(Caulfield), D. M. Giennon (Ascot Vale),
S. C. Gregory (Mordialloc), T. Lewis
(Ascot Vale), W. E. Telford (Glen Hunt-
ly), R. C. Trounson (Dandenong), and
J. A. McLoughlin (Caulileld). Permits
to train, owner-trainer: — A. G. Dunham
(Thornbury). L. J..Maloney (East Mal
vern), R. Frawley (Port Melbourne), M.
C. Hoyt (Caulfield), A. Speirs (South
Melbourne) and W. Hayes (Carnegie).
The permit of A. J. Parr, apprentice,
to ride in races, was withdrawn for six
months.
