GLOVES, SCARFS & HAND BAGS
GLOVES, It seems, grow more exciting
and more elaborate with every rea
son. And this summer you can express
your personality as unmistakably in the
gloves you --.house as in your irocks and
hats. You may fall for a frivolous wisp
of laoo or net, or you may flaunt dash-
ing cavalier gauntlets or crimson or
emerald suede with your spring suit. You
may favor gloves of taffeta, elaborately
niched and rucked, or debonair ones of
zebra-striped silk. You may capitulate
to the charm of quaint crinoline gloves,
hooped with wire like our grandmothers'
skirts, or eccentric bee-hive gauntlets
of.;ffncly-wovcn straw. Gloves are all
things for all occasions and all types this
spring !
\
BUT nt least one pair of line mesh
gloves you must include amongst your
spring-summer accessories. The gleam
-.of lacquered linger nails and ultra-mod
ern rings through the line mesh is tjic
last. word in chic fashion vows ! There
are enchanting gloves of a spider-web
fine string, knitted or crocneted, to be
lind in a dozen different shades for 8/11
and' 9/11, and a real bargain that you
will need to snap up quickly is the col
lection of Amciican gloves, fashioned
of anything from linen and cotton to
silk and string, being put out to-day nt
the one cut price of 2/11. Amazing
value these, for there arc some fascinat
ing styles, frivolous, demure or dashing,
to choose from. To single out but two,
there1 arc fanciful ones with a fine mesh
hand and wide flared organdie culls, and
others ' of an open-work fabric with a
Hlted gauntlet. And you will find a
dozen 'different colors to choose from,
for color, you should know, is as im
portant as fabric and cut where gloves
are concerned this spring.
AND another bargain in the 'glove
line. There arc linen gauntlets,
perfectly plain save for a drawn-thread
border, selling at only 4/11, in green,
maize, dusty pink, cream and blue.
HAND bags are hardly less interesting
than gloves this season. Have you
seen those novelties stitched all over with
shiny ' wooden beads ? They come in
plain colors, lipstick red, green, blue,
nrown and, of course, black and while.
Charming with spring or summer suits —
and so serviceable, too.' ' There are wal
let and. pouch shapes to choose from, and
the price Is a guinea, while smaller wal
lets to match cost 15/G.
OR if you are looking for a real bar
gain in hand bags there is on excel
lent line being sold tills week at 10/. You
wilt find a score of different styles here,
developed in fancy leathers, in moroccos
fabrics. And colors are as varied as the
styles.
A ND scarfs ? The last word in chic
is the spun-glass scarf, with all the
sheen and glitter of crystal, and all the
vivid hues of a spring garden. You must
pay dearly for these extravagancies,
though — a cool 25/ ! There are gay,
fascinating scarfs of striped linen, too,
or shiny patents or rough, matt-surfaced
and frivolous ones of organza, with
silk woven stripes. They ' cost 15/G and
1G/6 respectively, while square scarfs
of gossamer fine georgette or nlnon are
4/11. Good value -these, for colors and
designs arc charming, and the edges
are hnnd rolled. And there arc gay silk
triangular scarfs that are good buying
at 5/6. Just the thing to lend new life
and interest to a- frock or blouse that
is a hang-over from last summer's ward
robe.
