THE BOWDEN-ANDERSON IM
BROGLIO.
MELBOURNE, Thursday.
(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT)
Mr J. C Bowden was handed to the press
for publication the correspondence between him
self and the V A T C committee in connection
with the Bowden Anderson imbrogho The com
mittee of the club requested Mr Bowden to
meet them on Friday next to furnish full and
specific particulars of the charge made
against Mr Anderson Mr Bowden, in
his reply to the committee, while
not ackno vledgmg the right of anyone,
except Mr Anderson, to demand particulars,
as an act of courtesy forwards a copy of a letter
published in the press, giving full particulars
of the case he had m mind at the time he spoke
at the general meeting He thinks it necessary,
m tlie interest' of the turf, that Mr Anderson’s
actions should be publicly dealt with before a
tribunal having power to examine witnesses
on oath, and, with that view before him, he
challenged Mr Anderson to take legal proceed
ings in the County Court The letter con
eluded—“ After the prominence given to my
statement, I am sure that the racing public
will not bo satisfied with a secret enquiry
before a body which cannot force unwilling
witnesses to attend, nor compel them to give
evidence on oath ”
