BRITISH IN SOUTH RUSSIA.
PROTECTING REFUGEES IN
CRIMEA.
LONDON, 20th April.
Replying to Mr. Keuworthy in the House
of Commons to-day, the Secretary of State
for War, Mr. Churchill, stated that a small
British military mission remained in the
Crimea with the object of assisting in the
rcorgansation of the anti-Bolshevist army
and keeping the new commander in chief.
General Wrangol, informed of the progress
of negotiations between the British Foreign
Office and the Bolshevists with tlio view
of protecting tho lives of tlie Russian
soldiers and woman and child refugees in
the Crimea. Meanwhile the Government
would do all that it could through the mis
sion to prevent the Bolshevists from over
running tho Crimea and massacring these

graphed to Malta asking for the urgent de
spatch of supplies of clothing for 5006 desti
tute ivomon and children, who are refugees
front Russia.
