CAMPBELL'S CREEK DREDGE.
OASTTLEMAINE. — Work at the Campbell's
Creek bucket dredge was suspended on Friday, and,
the ground having practically been worked out, the
plant will in all probability be dismantled and
removed from the district. This company was
the first to start dredging operations in the dis-
trict, commencing with a hydraulic sluicing plant
in January, 1899. Since then there have been as
many as 30 dredges working simultaneously in
the district. Only one dredge is now at work
locally.

has been extended 108 feet, and it U expected
that what is known as tho Consolidated Co, 'a
'middle lode will be struck when the crosscut is
out a total of 200 feet. The middle lode in the
Consolidated ground was of considerable extent,
and the Edna Central are relyinir on this ore
body to augment Its reserves.— Owing to the
high prices ruling for mining m.achincry end
stores of aJl kinds, the Edna May Co., 'which
has ceased operations, is realising 'its plant and
stores on hand to advantage. .The heave inflow
of water at Wcstonia continues to bo a heavy
handicap upon mine managers.
