Auburn ground 011 butimlav. The contest was I
even and exciting. lUgwuud hail the best of
the scoring, lu the flnnl quarter Auburn played 1
I well, but were unequal to - the tusk that de- !
volvcd upon them. The scores were:— Rtngwood,
1 8.10; Auburn, 7.9. j
j There was a good attendance at Surrey Park j
| to ee the match between burrey Hills and Bnl- 1
I wyn. There wus special interest in this con- 1
| test, as the tenuis were practically on even terms
for the fourth position. There was some excel
lent play, nnd a great deal of it was of equal
merit, though Surrey Hills had decidedly the
best of the scoring. They put up a good lead
in the first quarter, and maintained their ad-
I vantage till the bell rang. The record was:—
Surrey lliUs, 7.14; Bahvyn, 2.4. In the third |
I term Uren, of Surrey Hills, was injured, aud 1
had to be carried off the ground. O. Shaw, of 1
Halwyn, was also unfortunate, and his condition 1
necessitated bis removal from tbe arena. Those
players were unable to resume, and the mutch
I was finished with 17 men aside. Surrey Hills
are now confident of gaining fourth place, Ver
mont being the only other team In the running,
| und they have to meet Auburn on baturday.. Tho
