ARRESTS OF RINGLEiADEQKS.

The general secretary of railway men
and two others were arrested to-day,
and voluminous correspondence was
seized.
^ Five of the most prominent smke
leaders, including M. Tofi&n., p^mdent
of the Drivers and 'Firemen's Federation,
were arrested quietly- .
. Twenty furllier arrests are expeeted.

The "TiDies" correspondent in
Paris says it is suggested in some
quarters that the leading agitators
should be tried by the Senata as a
High Court of Justice on the charge i
conspiracy against tbe safety -of the
State.

Those who put forward this suggestion
point to the facts that Paris

that, although the strike has lasted
