The Golden Horseshoe has returned
16.(366 oz. from 11,286 tons for October,
compared with- : 16,038 oz. from 10,371
tons for September. October shows increase
on b;>th sides of. the account, .the
tonnage increase, however, outweighing •
the yield and making the average 1 oz.

from each department, and it is hoped

Hainault October output was £499 oz.
from 886 tons. The value of the gold
at £315s per oz. approximates £1871 5s.
The costs are stated, at.. 25s 10.79d. per
ton, whjjcli works out at a little under
£1150, leaving a profit on the month
cf £721 5s.
The Euro treated 606 tons during October
for 275 oz.
The Childe Harold treated 155 tons
for 569 ok. during October, compared
with 543 oz. from 652 oz. in September.
Britannia and Batavia October return
182.cz. from 360 tons, as against 267 ok..
from 470 tons in September.
The battery on the Eclipse lease of
the Golden Link property is gradually
approaching completion, but it will be a
little wh'le yet before the battery is in
full working order. It makes quite a
feature on the landscape of the central
part of the'Belt.
The development work at Bayley's
gold mines during the past week has
revealed nothing fresh. Towards the
end of next week it is expected that
the Reward reef will be intersected in
the south drive. '
The Lake View Consols main shaft is
now well below 1.300ft., but it is intended
to get down to 1,400ft. as soon
asipossible, and open out.
